Mayfair is an area located between Hyde Park in the west, Oxford Street in the north, Regent Street in the east and Piccadilly in the south. It's an upmarket area with many luxurious shops, restaurants and 5-star hotels.

One of the main shopping streets of London, Bond Street , is located in Mayfair. All of the luxury brands have a store there, many of which are flagship stores. Besides designer fashion brands, there are also many other types of stores, such as jewellery and antique stores. There are also art galleries and the Sotheby’s auction house. You can find more information about Bond Street on our Bond Street page.

Between Regent Street and Bond Street is the famous Savile Row with bespoke men’s suits. The luxurious Mount Street that starts from Hyde Park has boutiques of many fashion brands, for example, Christian Louboutin and Balenciaga. The Nicholas Kirkwood flagship store is located further down Mount Street.

Things to see include the Royal Academy of Arts with world-class art exhibitions close to Piccadilly. Another exciting place to visit is the Handel & Hendrix museum, which combines two flats in neighbouring houses where the musicians have lived, only 200 years apart.

The area also has lots of good restaurants. Near Regent Street , you’ll find sketch, which is a beautiful restaurant with several different styles of interiors on one site. The spaces are the Lecture Rooms & Library, the Parlour, the Glade, the East Bar and the Gallery. Lecture Rooms & Library was awarded their 3rd Michelin star in 2019.

Next to Grosvenor Square, the largest green space in Mayfair, you’ll find Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill as well as Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay restaurants. Only a couple minutes away, a completely different foodie experience is available in Mercato Mayfair on North Audley Street. It is a stunning, converted church that now houses food stalls and bars offering dishes made with fresh and sustainably sourced ingredients. The basement has a community space with events such as free music classes and performances.

Hakkasan Mayfair offers Dim Sum and modern Cantonese delicacies close to Berkeley Square. Close to Hakkasan, a good option for drinks is Mr Fogg’s Residence, which is a cocktail bar inspired by the world-famous adventurer from Jules Verne book Around the World in Eighty Days with “a cocktail menu as brave and adventurous as Mr Fogg himself”.

There are several 5-star hotels in the area. The Connaught in the corner of Carlos Place and Mount Street is a great place to stay with good restaurants and bars. There is a water feature on Carlos Place, Silence by Tadao Ando, which reflects the hotel beautifully and has mist erupting from it every 15 minutes. Claridge’s is an art-deco 5-star hotel on Brook Street dating back to 1856. The bar has an extensive collection of drinks from champagnes to spirits and wines. Claridge’s Christmas tree is designed by a different designer each year, and it is always spectacular. Some of the previous designers are Christian Louboutin, Diana von Furstenberg and Sir Jony Ive & Marc Newson.
