The works in the museum are from the 18th century to the present. The museum aims to preserve British cartoon and comic history as well as to bring forward new artists. There are over 6000 original cartoons and comics in the collection. The works present many topics, for example, politics and there are caricatures about people in the public eye. The collection also contains excerpts from many well-known comics including Watchmen, Billy the Kid and the Thunderbirds.


The museum also holds events concentrating on the works of some specific artists and workshops where participants get to draw cartoons of a particular topic.
