The event lasts for a week and, as it’s in late May, there’s usually quite nice weather. You can wander around Chelsea and visit popular areas such as King’s Road, Duke of York Square, and Pavilion Road. Many local stores participate in the event and decorate their storefronts with vibrant floral displays. There’s a competition between the stores; an expert panel and visitors can vote for their favourites.
There’s a different theme each year, and this year’s theme was ‘Floral Feasts”.
We visited the event again this year and filmed a video of the main floral displays and places around Chelsea. We started early, with not many people around, but as you can see from the video, the streets are packed in the afternoon. For the best chance to see the flowers, we recommend visiting the event early on Saturday, Sunday, or during the week.
The route in the video is roughly the following:
- Sloane Square
- Duke of York Square
- Pavilion Road
- Sloane Street
- King’s Road
- Duke of York Square
We were also lucky to see the excellent Duo band playing at Duke of York Square in the afternoon, so you can also get a glimpse of their performance.
