
State Rooms at Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace is open to visitors for about two months over the summer. This is a great chance to see what’s behind the gates and explore the State Rooms in the palace. During the self-guided tour, you also have the opportunity to see the throne room, part of the royal art collection, which features works by Rembrandt, Rubens, and van Dyck. Additionally, you can explore the beautiful garden side of the palace, complete with the lovely Garden Café offering views over the pond.

Wimbledon Championships
Wimbledon Tennis is starting again on 30/6, and there are some tickets available every day for early birds who don’t mind queuing. If that’s not you, another option is to watch Wimbledon on outdoor screens across London. There are screens around London in Parks and public squares, in places such as Covent Garden, Duke of York Square in Chelsea, next to the canal in King’s Cross and on Eccleston Yards in Belgravia, to name a few.

Spitalfields Music Festival
Spitalfields Music Festival is back, and this year’s event will take place between 1 July and 9 July. The festival features performances by renowned artists, as well as new commissions. The concerts are held in concert halls, historic venues and industrial spaces across East London. The music ranges from piano music to string quartets and vocal performances.

London Zoo | Zoo Nights 2025
Every Friday in July, you can visit the London Zoo for Zoo Nights between 6 and 10 PM. This is an excellent opportunity to see he animals in a new light and see what they get up to in the evenings. The event has atmospheric music and even live performances of the music from The Lion King. This event is for adults only and offers food from the street food market as well as drinks. There are also talks and games in addition to the 8500 animals in the zoo.

RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival
The RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival is an annual flower show held at Hampton Court Palace in London. It features show gardens, floral displays, talks, and demonstrations. You can get ideas for your garden and even shop for plants for your home. If you like roses, you shouldn’t miss the Festival of Roses that has displays from the country’s top nurseries.

Prehistoric Planet: Discovering Dinosaurs
The Lightroom in King’s Cross offers an immersive experience into the world of dinosaurs based on the Emmy-nominated Prehistoric Planet series. Damien Lewis narrates the experience featuring an original score by Hans Zimmer, Anže Rozman, and Kara Talve. These enormous creatures truly come to life in a place like Lightroom, and the show is well worth a visit.

Somerset House Summer Series
The Somerset House Summer Series is a series of concerts held over 11 evenings in a stunning setting in central London, less than 10 minutes from Trafalgar Square or Covent Garden. The concerts feature a diverse range of music styles to cater to various musical tastes. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the festival, featuring artists such as Rizzle Kicks, Freya Ridings, St. Vincent, and Giggs & Family.

Kaleidoscope Festival
Kaleidoscope Festival is an outdoor event held at Alexandra Palace, offering great views over London. This year’s festival features artists such as Faithless, Goldie, Sleeper and others. The festival also features comedy on the Fringe Stage, with performances by Shappi Khorsandi and Andrew Maxwell. The same stage also hosts Hip Hop Karaoke. There is also crafting, as well as the opportunity to learn some circus skills for the families.

BBC Proms
The BBC Proms, the annual classical music festival at the Royal Albert Hall in London, is starting again in July. Organised by the BBC, it aims to make classical music accessible to all with a blend of traditional and contemporary performances. The festival concludes with the widely celebrated “Last Night of the Proms,” a festive concert broadcast globally.

Future of Food
The Science Museum in South Kensington has a new free exhibition titled “Future of Food.” The festival explains how food production has evolved over the years, and how it can become more sustainable in the future. There are fascinating food items on display, including a 3,500-year-old loaf of bread and a steak grown outside a cow. There’s also a multiplayer game where you can create your future foods.
