Burlington House has been the home for many scientific associations since 1854. The building also has art exhibitions, as the Royal Academy of Arts is part of the same building.
One of the most well-known societies is the Linnean Society, where Charles Darwin presented his theory of evolution for the first time to the public. The building has other societies from these areas of science:
astrology
chemistry
biology
geography
There are occasionally open days hosted in the building and its courtyard, where you can see exhibitions and lectures about the different fields of science. Each society also has its events.
