The area also has many restaurants where you can relax after a long day of sightseeing.
Location
The centre is situated in a stunning location on the south bank of the Thames. It’s between the Tate Modern to the east and the London Eye to the west. A bridge leads towards the Charing Cross stations and the Trafalgar Square. The bridge crossing the Thames provides a great photo opportunity towards Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
The area is lovely for a stroll alongside the river, and there are plenty of opportunities to get something to eat and drink. You can also find things to buy; for example, there’s an excellent book market, South Bank Book Market, where you can find second-hand books, maps, prints, and postcards. The market is open daily and has been there since 1983. It is a familiar sight to many visiting the area, and many people stop to check if there are new and exciting things for sale.
Hayward Galley also has a shop where you can buy designer collaborations, ceramics, textiles, and prints.
