Bonfire Night London fireworks
Bonfire Night in London commemorates the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605 when Guy Fawkes and his accomplices attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament and King James I. Today, the tradition continues with bonfires, fireworks, and the burning of effigies known as “guys”. It is celebrated annually on or around 5 November, offering a chance to enjoy traditional food, drink, and family activities.

Hogwarts in the Snow
Experience a magical ‘Harry Christmas’ at the Studio Tour during Hogwarts in the Snow. Explore iconic sets like the Great Hall, decorated for the festive season with snow and authentic props. Discover transformed sets such as Gryffindor’s common room, learn dance steps for the Yule Ball, and visit the snowy Forbidden Forest and Diagon Alley.

Christmas markets
As the festive season approaches, London transforms into a winter wonderland. Charming Christmas markets featuring wooden chalets filled with handcrafted gifts, artisanal goods, and seasonal treats bring holiday cheer to the city. Highlights include Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland with market stalls, ice skating, and entertainment; Leicester Square’s market with twinkling lights; and the Southbank Centre’s Winter Market along the Thames.

The Lord Mayor’s Show
In the early 1200s, King John allowed London to appoint its own Lord Mayor, provided they swore loyalty to the Crown at Westminster. This position was once the highest a commoner could hold. The annual Lord Mayor’s Show procession is a vibrant event that changes yearly. It showcases the history and interests of the new Lord Mayor, City life, and participants’ creativity. Key highlights include the historic State Coach, military bands, and iconic figures like Gog and Magog. The outward procession happens from 11 to 12 between Bank and St Paul’s, and it will get very busy in the area.

Christmas at Kew
Christmas at Kew is one of the UK’s most renowned illuminated trails, offering a special way to celebrate the festive season or welcome the New Year. The gardens are transformed into a vibrant display of seasonal lights and sounds, featuring tunnels of twinkling lights, reflections on the lake, and trees illuminated with rich, jewel-like colours.

The London Jazz Festival
The EFG London Jazz Festival, Europe’s largest pan-city music festival, occurs every November. It features global stars and emerging talents across 300+ live shows citywide. Since its start in 1992 by Serious, it has grown into an important event in the UK jazz scene, showcasing jazz, offering a platform for artists, and bringing energy to music venues across London.

The Winter Wonderland 2024
Winter Wonderland transforms Hyde Park into a festive destination, featuring the UK’s largest Christmas market with wooden chalets offering seasonal treats and handmade gifts. Visitors can enjoy family-friendly attractions, including rides for children, a giant Ferris wheel with views of London, and live entertainment. Highlights also include Bar Ice, with its après-ski theme and festive cocktails, Justin’s Christmas Singalong for young families, and the UK’s largest open-air ice rink. For thrill-seekers, rides like the Wilde Maus XXL rollercoaster and Blizzard provide an adrenaline rush. At the same time, the Snow Jet offers a gentle ride that turns into an exhilarating winter adventure.

The Cake & Bake Show
The Cake & Bake Show is an annual event focused on baking, cake decorating, and sweet treats.
