The exhibition is curated by Dylan Jones, and it is free to attend until it closes on 20/3.
The exhibition showcases 24 captivating photographs of David Bowie, including fourteen individual prints, two diptychs, and two triptychs, offering a diverse and engaging visual experience. The location, Fitzrovia Chapel, is perfect for this kind of event, allowing the photos to stand out from the gorgeous interior of the chapel and setting the mood for quiet contemplation and admiration of the works. Quiet contemplation is, in fact, the mood of David Bowie in many of the images.
The Fitzrovia Chapel is a Grade II-listed building originally built as the chapel for Middlesex Hospital that was demolished in 2008. The chapel was designed in 1891 by renowned Victorian architect John Loughborough Pearson and completed in the early 1930s. It was later restored and opened to the public in September 2015. The Gothic style influenced the chapel design. One of the most fascinating elements of the interior is the beautiful golden ceiling mosaics over the altar.
