The store
The Oxford Street Primark is a multi-storey store, with separate floors for women's, men's and children's fashion, accessories and homeware. The range covers everyday basics, seasonal pieces and trend-driven collections, all priced well below most other Oxford Street retailers, which makes it one of the best options for cheap shopping in central London. Styles lean into street fashion and social-media trends, and the collections are refreshed often through the season.
Alongside clothing, there's a large beauty and accessories hall with jewellery, bags, shoes, scarves and sunglasses, plus make-up, skincare and haircare. The homeware range includes bedding, towels, soft furnishings and small decorative pieces and makes up a substantial part of the store.
In addition to clothing, the store features a large accessories and beauty section offering jewellery, bags, shoes, scarves and sunglasses, as well as make-up, skincare and hair products. The homeware range includes bedding, towels, soft furnishings and small decorative items, forming a substantial part of the store’s overall offering.
Other central London branches
If Oxford Street is busy, Primark also has stores nearby at Marble Arch (the western end of Oxford Street) and on Tottenham Court Road, both within easy walking distance.
A bit of history
Primark was founded in 1969 in Dublin by Irish retailer Arthur Ryan, opening as Penneys on Mary Street with a simple aim: fashionable clothing at the lowest possible prices. The chain expanded into the UK in the early 1970s, trading as Primark for trademark reasons, and London quickly became one of its key markets. The Oxford Street store opened in 2007 and is now one of the most recognisable names on the street.
