Summer Sessions

Summer Sessions is an event in the Design District in North Greenwich, next to the O2, with dance, music, food, and film every weekend throughout August. Whether you’re a connoisseur of cuisine, a film enthusiast, or simply seeking an unforgettable experience on the dance floor or to sway to live jazz, immerse yourself in four remarkable weekends. Kensington & Chelsea Festival

Kensington & Chelsea Festival is a month-long event around Kensington and Chelsea. From theatre, circus, opera, and dance to captivating music, outdoor arts, family entertainment, and thought-provoking talks, this Festival offers a wide range of experiences. There are interactive activities, informative walks, and striking public art installations. Until 31 August 

Mars: War & Peace is a visual art installation in two churches in Kensington and Chelsea. This is the first time the Mars sculpture is showcased in a church setting, accompanied by a specially crafted soundscape. Notably, its presence at St John the Baptist aligns with a series of orchestral performances as part of a concert series. During its time at the Kensington & Chelsea Festival, Mars: War & Peace can be found at All Saints’ Church (W11 1JS): July 31 – August 8 and Jubilee Square (W8 7NX): August 10 – 13.

Craft Beer Festival

London Craft Beer Festival will be held at the Tobacco Dock in Wapping in East London. It’s a two-day event where you can try the 800+ beers that are available at the festival. You should also know that beer is included in the ticket price. A good selection of food and snacks is also available to purchase, so you don’t need to enjoy the festival hungry. Music and entertainment will also be available; dancing is also an option.

Colors Festival London

Colors Festival London, held at Camden Market, presents an immersive encounter with street art, paintings, photography, and illustrations curated by 35+ talented artists worldwide. Engage with interactive installations and encounter art in awe-inspiring ways. Until September 3

Abbey Road Studios

Abbey Road Studios, located in the heart of London, is a recording studio that has played a significant role in shaping the history of music. Renowned for its exceptional acoustics and state-of-the-art equipment, Abbey Road Studios has been the birthplace of countless albums and has hosted some of the world’s most celebrated artists. From The Beatles to Adele, this studio continues to be a symbol of innovation and creativity in the music industry.

Abbey Road Studios is open for the public on a rare occasion this month. You can witness the very place where The Beatles recorded most of their music in the ‘60s. Accompanied by the authors Kevin Ryan and Brian Kehew, the minds behind ‘Recording The Beatles, this special tour delves into the legendary band’s distinctive recording techniques and showcases the most iconic moments in the studio’s history. The tickets aren’t cheap at £140, but the tour offers exclusive talks about the history of the studios. 12 August

Ice Cream Festival

Experience the indulgence of Covent Garden Cool Down with a selection of over 40 ice cream varieties, sundaes, sorbets, frozen drinks, gelato, and more, available at 35 exceptional venues across Covent Garden. Be sure to visit the pop-ups in the Piazza, including Barafat Café, Bears Ice Cream, Crosstown, Kelly’s Ice Cream Van, and Little Orange Van. Enjoy exclusive dishes throughout the festival at Aubaine, Amorino, Avobar, Bubblewrap, Ladurée, Mariage Frères, Morelli’s, and Venchi. Keep also an eye out for buy-one-get-one-free offers and discounts from Godiva and Hotel Chocolat. Greenwich+Docklands International Festival

Greenwich+Docklands International Festival (GDIF) is the foremost festival of free outdoor theatre and performing arts in London. GDIF is a part of the Royal Greenwich Festivals, a series of top-notch events organised by the Royal Borough of Greenwich. GDIF collaborates with artists and art organisations worldwide to inspire a diverse range of audiences through curated performances in some of the city’s public spaces. GDIF has already unveiled a selection of captivating shows, such as Open Lines. Notting Hill Carnival

The iconic Notting Hill Carnival has been bringing the vibrant spirit of Caribbean culture to London since 1966. It’s a joyful celebration of history, music, and community.

This year’s event will again occur on the August bank holiday weekend. Immerse yourself in the heart of the Carnival, where vibrant streets come alive with the pulsating beats of Calypso, Soca, Reggae, and more. The Notting Hill Carnival route typically remains unchanged each year, and you can easily locate it on the official Notting Hill Carnival app that comes with a map. The carnival takes over the lively neighbourhoods of Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Grove, Westbourne Park, and Kensal Road. August 27 - August 28
